Our Origin
Bath Botanica is the creative life work of Haitian American owner and founder, Marjorie Jean-Baptiste. The ancestral practice of working with medicinal plants and water made a deep impression on her during a special postpartum cleanse she was blessed to receive from her mother. It was among the most profound experiences of her life. For years Marjorie recalled the event, intuitively sensing the fertile field that would grow into her life’s mission – curating intentional cleansing experiences and bringing this timeless therapy back from the roots of history to serve mothers everywhere. Who We Are
Our offerings consist of a very specific modality of body work that incorporates herbal medicine, water, and great intention to craft a memorable cleansing experience for the recipient. These offerings cannot take place without a purposeful team of contributors, including Mother Earth, doulas and midwives, mentors, guides, consultants, herbalists, farmers and other stewards of the lands; as well as close friends and family, including the owner’s young daughter who is often creatively involved in this beautiful work.
Our Commitment
Humanity has worked with and relied on sacred plants and water since the beginning of time, creating an inherent relationship that is wise to respect. Hence, the use of these elements cannot be done without love and respect. The love and respect that each and every living being deserves. The patient love and respect that transitions require, and the love and respect that any person offering to be of service to another is required to be rooted in and sourcing from; this is our commitment.
Special Acknowledgment
Our work is grounded and informed by a deep well of gratitude and reverence for the ancestral wisdom and the ever-giving generosity of the Earth.
Our Ingredients
We respectfully use tried and true elements – water and botanicals – that have served humanity since the beginning of time. We make every effort to work with ethically and sustainably harvested organic botanical ingredients utilizing local sources whenever possible; consciously harvesting only what is needed and nothing more.
